Lactic acid bacillus are gram-positive; aerobic and facultatively anaerobic; have terminal spores, and produce lactic acid from fermentable sugars.

Amoxycillin (penicillin-like antibiotics) + Clavulanic acid (beta-lactamase inhibitors)

  • Clavulanic acid enhances the antibacterial spectrum of amoxicillin by rendering most beta-lactamase-producing isolates susceptible to the drug.
  • After oral administration, clavulanic acid is rapidly absorbed; amoxicillin appears to increase its absorption and its absorption is not affected by food.
